Eight (8) SAS physical links distributed across 2 internal x4 wide port connectors and 1 external x4 wide port connector.
One of the internal x4 wide port connector shares 4 physical links with the external x4 wide port connector.
When the shared internal x4 wide port connector is in use, the shared external x4 wide port is disabled.
Battery-Backed Write Cache (BBWC)
Standard with a 256MB 72-bit wide DDR266, BBWC, the modular, easy-to-upgrade design lets user optimize performance by upgrading from 256MB to 512MB BBWC

Given the increasing need for high performance and rapid capacity expansion, the SA-P600 offers the following maximum storage:
Up to 2.7TB of total storage with 38x 72GB SAS hard drives.
Up to 1.4TB of external storage per PCI slot with 2x HPE StorageWorks MSA50 SAS enclosures and 20x 72GB SAS hard drives.
