Flashpoint is an alternate timeline created by Barry Allen when he traveled back in time and saved his mother Nora Allen from Reverse-Flash. When Barry wakes up, he find everything about his life was different; Nora was alive, he wasn't married to Iris West, he wasn't the Flash, and Wonder Woman and the Amazons were at war with Aquaman and the Atlanteans. Cyborg became the United States greatest hero, as Kal-El was captured by the government and doesn't become Superman.
Barry seeks out the help of Batman to help him figure out what happened, but the Batman he finds is Thomas Wayne, since in this timeline Bruce was killed by Joe Chill and Martha became the Joker. Eventually, Barry realized that the humanity was starting to pay the price for "his happiness" in this new world and knew he had to put things back to normal. So he traveled back in time again, merging with his younger counterpart during the attempt to stop the Reverse Flash, inadvertently creating another timeline which slightly differs from either the Flashpoint or original universe.
