We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional for the position of Financial Accountant & Reporting Specialist. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise, hands-on experience with month-end closing processes, and the ability to provide meaningful financial insights to support business decisions.
Main Tasks & Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
• Manage core accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams by providing financial insights and recommendations;
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions;
• Communicate with suppliers and ensure reconciliation of supplier and customer balances;
• Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations of balances and revenue/cost transactions within the Group;
• Support the Finance Manager and Chief Accountant during financial and tax audits, as well as in other finance-related activities when required.
Compliance & Internal Controls
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/local GAAP, internal policies, and financial controls;
• Ensure tax and statutory compliance;
• Perform detailed balance sheet and P&L analysis and explain variances.
Financial Reporting & Data Analysis
• Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of financial and operational reports for internal and external stakeholders;
• Analyze financial and operational data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights to support business decisions;
• Participate in the monthly and year-end closing of financial accounts in line with established schedules and deadlines.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics;
• 4–6 years of experience in a similar position; previous audit experience will be considered an advantage;
• Very good level of English – both written and spoken;
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and Bulgarian tax legislation;
• Excellent computer literacy and very good Excel skills;
• Experience with Oracle applications will be considered an advantage.
